The Doctoral Program in Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Diponegoro University, will conduct Dissertation Research Examination II on Friday, 30 January 2026. The examination will be held in a hybrid format, taking place at Building J, 5th Floor, Room J508, FPIK Undip, and via Zoom Meeting.
The Dissertation Research Examination II will be presented by a doctoral student of the Marine Science Program, Iis Widya Hrmoko, with the dissertation entitled “Decadal Rainfall Distribution Shifts in Northern Coastal Java: Histogram-Based Clustering Using Observations and CHIRPS.” The study focuses on analyzing decadal-scale shifts in rainfall distribution in the northern coastal region of Java using a histogram-based clustering approach derived from observational data and CHIRPS.
This Dissertation Research Examination II constitutes an important stage in the doctoral academic process, aimed at evaluating the progress of the dissertation research and obtaining feedback and academic guidance from the examination committee to further refine the ongoing study.
Through this examination, the dissertation research is expected to contribute scientifically to the development of marine science, particularly in understanding climate dynamics and their impacts on coastal regions in Indonesia.
